Gar Precision Reference Standard

GAR Precision Roughness Standards

An economical calibration standard for surface analyzing equipment.  Ra values of 119.5 and 16.1; includes certification traceable to N.I.S.T.

The GAR #PRS Precision Reference Standard provides an economical calibration tool which permits the technician to calibrate surface analyzing equipment to its peak efficiency.  It is the only calibration block available to show the actual patch mean values of low and high microinch surfaces and certified by NIST.

The surface of the Precision Roughness Standard consists of a series of parallel, uniform, V-shaped grooves having an included angle of 150° between the sides.  Since the surface character of the Precision Reference Standard is unlike normally machined surfaces, therefore it is not recommended for use in visual or tactile comparison.

Also available is the #PRSC, which is individually serialized, calibrated and supplied with long-form NIST certification.

GAR Microsurface Surface Roughness Comparator

GAR Microfinish Surface Comparators

Twenty-two replicated machined surface finish specimens with examples of six different machining processes: lapped, ground, Blanchard ground, shape-turned, milled and profiled; ranging in values from 2 to 500 microinches.

The GAR #S-22 Microfinish Surface Roughness Comparator provides industry with established flat surface roughness specimens for visual and tactual comparison.  It is used in specifying and controlling surface roughness when a product having the appearance of typically machined surfaces required.

The Microfinish Comparator provides an economical tool which permits roughness to be specified on the same basis as linear measurements.  The surfaces presented are the result of years of research and engineering.

Also available is the #S-22C, which is individually serialized, calibrated and supplied with long-form NIST certification.

GAR M-15 Master Visual-Tactual Set

GAR Master Visual-Tactual Set

Eight individual blocks with fifteen replicated machined surfaces from 2 to 125 microinches.

The GAR #M-15 Master Set contains eight individual rectangular blocks (each block is 1-3/8" x 1-7/8").  They are made of corrosion resistant electroformed nickel that are duplicates of actual conventionally machined surfaces.  There are fifteen replicated machined surface finish specimens ranging from 2 to 125 microinches.

The M-15 Master Visual-Tactual Set is supplied in a protective velvet-lined case complete with engineering data and instructions. Individual blocks are available and can be purchased separately.

Also available is the #M-15C, which is individually serialized, calibrated and supplied with long-form NIST certification.

GAR #G-4 PAK Kit

Contains four individual roughness scales that include replicated surface finish specimens of machined, grit-blasted, shot-blasted and electrical discharge machined (EDM) surfaces.

The GAR #G-4 GAR PAK Kit contains four surface finish roughness scales and provides specimens of a full range of roughness averages (Ra).  They are made of  corrosion resistant electroformed nickel that are duplicates of actual machined, grit-blasted, shot-blasted and electrical discharge machined (EDM) surfaces.

Each GAR #G-4 PAK Kit contains:

S-22 Scale

22 specimens of machined surfaces - lapped, ground, Blanchard ground, shape-turned, milled and profiled - ranging from 2 to 500 microinches.

SH-6 Scale

Six shot-blast specimens ranging from 32 to 1000 microinches.

E-9 Scale

Nine EDM specimens ranging from 16 to 250 microinches.

G-6 Scale

Six grit-blast specimens ranging from 32 to 1000 microinches.

Also available is the #G-4C, which is individually serialized, calibrated and supplied with long-form NIST certification.Click to download or view a PDF file
